Choral Concert, Victoria Concert Hall
8 April, Tuesday, 7.30pm
it's been a week since our wonderful concert..
and here's my post regarding it, finally. lol
2.40pm
the whole preparation started at 2.40pm, where we all assembled in the atrium, guys all changed up.
and gdness me, i didn't bring my socks & my belt. and i was panicking throughout the bus trip from school to VCH. oh well, but, in the end, all thanks to seng chueng. lol. with his socks.
3.30+pm
once there, we saw SAChoir inside the theatre's lobby.
anw, we all went into the concert hall, left our stuffs along the corridor and proceeded to our COMBINED REHEARSAL.
4.30+pm
after the combined rehearsal, CJChoir took on the stage rehearsed their 5 pieces.
then SAChoir, before DmnChoir.
6.45+pm
everybody were excited and busy checking themselves against mirrors and of course me, who took this time to wax my hair, as i couldn't find any extra time to wax before that. haha.
7.25pm
Me, Bryan, Kok, Jerrold, Hanwen, Quan Feng, Eugene, Georgina, Iris, KangQi and Tracy lined up at the backstage, getting ready to walk in for our "Announcement". a piece to remind everyone is the hall to swtch off the mobile phones. lol. and while other Dmnchorister ate their dinner, we had to sing with empty stomachs..=(
once we stepped in, screams started flying in. haha. but the place was so noisy, i doubt many heard we sing. except for the "DO IT NOW" part. after finishing the piece, we all got mixed up of where to exit, but well, it didn't matter i think. lol. cos many thought we did it on purpose=p
once we walk out, the emcee(i wonder who tt person is too) took over and officially begin our concert.
7.30pm+ - Concert Commence
the concert kicked off with SAChoir's 5 pieces..namingly
1. Psalm 47 from "Psalms for Dancing"
2. The Peace of God
3. Pseudo-Yoik Lite
4. I Believe
5. Sister Act Medley
i only manage to hear the 1st and the last piece during the rehearsal, and i like the Sister Act Medley! it was fantastic. haha. WELL DONE=)
while they performed, the ''announcement'' grp went to eat our dinner. (finally! =D) haha. while the girls put on their make-ups.
next up was CJChoir, with their pieces
1. Ave Maria
2. Tanguendo
3. I am Not Yours
4. With One Look
5. Plenty Good Room
Plenty Good Room is a very familiar piece, with SAChoir & RI Voices performing it before.
and i like TANGUENDO! haha. heard it during our first combined prac. WELL DONE=)
this was the final segment of the 1st half.
Intermission
right after the intermission was our turn! woo..very excited. for all the hardwork we've put in, that was the day. and it's gonna be my, and other sec4s and 5s', swan song, and my last appearance for Dmnchoir..=(
i really feel that time really pass so fast. i felt as though the day before was my sec1 audition day. and so quickly, i'm alr stepping down. but no matter, the sec4s and 5s vowed to put on a wonderful performance to mark our departure.
we went on the stage, and waited for mr toh to get on stage.
we sang..

3. Circle of Life
4. 平安夜 (A Peaceful Night)
5. Kasar Mie La Gaji (The Earth is Tired)
hanwen sang the solo for song no.2, and shaun no. 3. the performance was great :) and i was pleased hear compliments for our performances. lol. thanks!
right after our last piece, SAChoir and CJChoir came on stage for the last item, the FINALE PIECES.

2. One Day More
the first was nice, with the adult choir (the hummings) imitationg the orchestra. the song is actually depicting a scene when a group of kids sang the song when springtime arrived.
the second was brilliant, i think. haha.
though some commented that i was a little bit too soft. but overall, the piece is still wonderful. and i really love the song very much. not that bcos i get to sing the part, but bcos the song is really really very nice. lol =D
well, after we completed, we had an encore piece to wrap up the wonderful night,
1. Irish Blessing
irish blessing is a very touching piece, and if u scroll down, u can actually see the song's lyrics.
the song is totally appropriate as the sec4s and 5s are graduating. hai..:(
anyway,
after the song. we had a appreciation time, where the various choirs present they token of appreciation for mr toh and the various teachers.
for dmnchoir, we got mr toh a bouquet of flowers and a bunch of bananas..erhemm..yes bananas. lol. well, that was meant to be a joke, we also got him something more proper - a box of chocolate. haha
