yesterday watched
The Prestige with some churchmate,
yingdan, samuel, elsen, doreen, eugene, yixin, johan, enz, etc etc. walao, the movie is like so nice la...lolz. went in to the theatre late..then missed the intro..can can roughly understand the start..
bacically its abt two magician, one called
borden, another angier. both were trainees to one very famous magician, even though borden was much talented than angier, but the mentor favours angier. out of anger, borden killed robert's wife during a magic performance. i dunno whether did he did it delibarately or accidentally. then ths climax starts here.
both magicians went separate ways and were determined to outwit each other and be more famous than each other. they went to each other's performance and sabotage each other. as a result,
borden lost 2 fingers.angier went to learn tricks from a magician called cutter. cutter taught him tricks requires these 3 steps -
1. The Pledge, doing something ordinary
2. The Turn, something unexpected happens
3.The Prestige, the return of ordinary.
angier were very impressed by borden's tricks and is determined to steal his tricks, even by sending his assistant, acted by scarlett johansson(SJ), to work as borden's assistant and steal his tricks notebook. in turn, SJ told borden all angier's tricks. then blah blah blah...
then there is very big twist at the back...
nikola tesla, a half mad scientist made a machine tt duplicate ppl. angier got it..and performed a performance called 'the transported man'. and whenevr he copies one replica of himself,
he kills the original one, by dropping into a hole on the stage and drowns himself, and the replica would appear somewhere else, giving the audience an illusion tt he teleported...then the unexpected part is that borden has another him i dunno is twins or he knew the machine before angier, they takes turn to be borden..and..ya..the rest watch urself..haha..
really have to watch it..its seriously very nice..but must take note for every single details on the movie, and ur brain shud be working
, or else u'll walk out of the cinema complaning the movie sucks and dun understand wat they doing...lolz.then after the movie, around 10,
went to starbucks at simei, sat down, and chit chat, while some went to sent doreen's friend home...lolz. until around 10.55 like tt then i left first....cos mata patrolling in 5 minutes time...lolz..
